Country Manager for Sweden, Zurich Resilience Solutions | Risk Engineering

Zurich is one of the most specialized insurance companies within non-life commercial insurance for local and international businesses in the Nordic market. We support both the medium sized companies as well as global corporations around the world in the understanding of risk and the protection of their assets and revenue streams. We are now looking for an individual with a driven, positive and engaging attitude to join our Nordic organization as Country Manager for Risk Engineering within Property.

 

Zurich Risk Engineering is the strategic partner of our industry clients focusing on the identification, evaluation, quantification and reduction of overall risks and their possible impact. We have over 1000 risk professionals with industry expertise operating in over 40 countries working with first-class methods and tools covering a broad variety of disciplines.

 

As Country Manager for ZRS Sweden, you will provide strong, visible leadership. You will develop and enhance the services delivered by the Risk Engineering team, ensuring they align strategically with our business goals. Your contribution will help us achieve the objectives of both Zurich Nordic and Zurich Resilience Solutions

 

Job description

As the Country Manager, you will lead a team of approximately 8 Risk Engineers in Sweden, with P&L responsibility for the unit. You will be based at our Nordic head office in Stockholm, where most of the team is located. In this role, you will be the face of the unit both internally and externally, contributing to Zurich Nordic’s leadership team and supporting Zurich’s reputation in the market.


You will act as a role model, meeting customer demands and inspiring your team and colleagues to deliver their best. You will coach your team to become trusted advisors for our customers, while also supporting their personal development.


You will foster a learning culture by encouraging continuous improvement and open dialogue, drawing on the experiences of peers, co-workers, and customers. Visible leadership will be central to your role, and you will contribute significantly to the management team within Underwriting & Risk Engineering.

 

Additionally, you will have account engineering responsibility and conduct risk assessments both in the field and through desktop assessments for prospect and renewal accounts, playing a key role in new business and renewals.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Understand local market dynamics and the evolving risk management landscape
  • Lead the unit’s financial performance with P&L responsibility
  • Overseeing all related Swedish activities within Zurich Resilience Solutions for business lines Property, Construction, Marine, Cyber and Liability.
  • The position is estimated as a 50% management and 50% customer (account engineering, field engineering etc).
  • Responsibility for developing the technical competence of the team making sure it meets the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for driving and supporting the ZRS transformation into a fee consulting business within Property, Construction, Marine, Cyber and Liability.
  • Plan and execute of a series of activities aimed at enhancing overall market awareness around ZRS
  • Oversee service delivery workflows to meet Underwriting needs and generate external fees with customers and brokers
  • Maintain high customer service standards, as reflected in global feedback
  • Support workforce development across technical, operational, and professional skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or risk management & safety engineering
  • A deep understanding and experience of risk engineering or risk management
  • Proven Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues
  • Experience of non-life commercial insurance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Swedish
